In maths were doing empty number lines and number patterns. We also have been doing daily ten in maths.
In literacy we have been reading the owl who was afraid of the dark. And we have been doing dictations.
In numeracy we have being doing a lot of easy maths and Sumdog. And in P.E we have been doing a lot of movement and dancing.
Our fabulous website team, Kian and Jack, have been updating our Certificate winners. Please find them in the Pupil Achievement tab on the home page.

We have many different methods to communicate information to our parents from here at Newfield Primary and Nursery.
MySchoolApp – Receive updates on events, reminders of important dates and find all the activities throughout the school year on our calendar. You can also report absences using this app. If you have any problems getting your app to work please contact Miss Corke at the school.
Twitter – Here we post our learning achievements and any activities going on in class. This is a closed group so no one outside the school can access this. If you wish to be added please contact the school with your Twitter name.
School Website – Here we will post some information about school along with termly newsletters and school newsletters. The ICT Wider Achievement Group will update the class pages as the year goes on. The website is a great tool for prospective parents and visitors outside of our Newfield family to get information about our school too.

There has been a lot of debate recently regarding the importance and value of homework tasks set by schools. Please find below the Learning At Home document published by Education Scotland outlining the value of Learning at Home tasks.
Homework is on our Improvement Plan this year and we will be seeking stakeholders opinions on the format of the homework we provide and any changes that could be made to make it more valuable to our young people and their learning. We will be using this document as a starting point for our discussions.
